Corrosion protection properties of poly(4‐vinyl pyridine) containing multilayer polymeric coatings on magnesium alloy AZ31

The aim of this study is to develop polymeric thin films for corrosion protection magnesium alloy AZ31. As polymer matrix, poly(4-vinyl pyridine) (P4VP) selected due its semiconducting properties and protonic conductivity. Polyacrylic acid tested as crosslinking layers improve interfacial adhesion. macroscopic the multilayer coatings are investigated by means electrochemical methods, such linear sweep voltammetry impedance spectroscopy (EIS), in corrosive media simulating technical biomedical applications.
